Privacy Policy
Last updated October 17, 2026
HuntCraft is a hunting app made by Whittier Technologies LLC ("we"). This policy explains what the app collects, why, who it's shared with, and how to delete it. The short version: we collect what the app needs to work, we don't sell your data, we don't show ads, and you can delete your account and data from inside the app at any time.
What we collect
- Your account. Your email address, and if you use Sign in with Apple, the identifier and token Apple gives us. If you choose "Hide My Email", we only see Apple's relay address.
- Your profile. Your display name, profile picture, units, and the weapon and hunt style you choose.
- Your gear. The items in your locker (names, brands, models, weights, notes, and so on) and any photos you add of them.
- Circles. The circles you create or join, the messages, photos and reactions you send, the people you connect with or block, and reports you make.
- Readiness settings. How you arrange and hide hunts, and your app background, including a photo if you choose your own.
- Gear audits (testers only). Your ratings of Readiness checklist items, and your notes and suggestions.
- Technical details. A token for sending you push notifications, when you last used the app, and, briefly, your IP address and how often you look up codes and links, so we can stop abuse.
We don't collect your location or your contacts, and we don't use analytics, advertising or tracking tools.
AI gear scans
When you add gear with a photo, the app can identify it with AI. It only does this if you allow it: the app asks before your first scan, and you can change your answer any time in Settings → Privacy.
When you scan, the photo is sent, through our server, to an AI service: Google's Gemini or Anthropic's Claude. Along with it go the app's list of gear types and product names; nothing else about you. The AI returns its best guess at the item's name, brand, model, weight and description, which you can edit before saving.
- Google processes the photo under its Gemini API terms. While we use Gemini's free service, those terms let Google use what's sent to improve its products, and people at Google may review it.
- Anthropic processes the photo under its commercial terms: it doesn't use it to train its models, and keeps it only for a limited time, for safety.
Scanning doesn't save the photo. It's kept only if you save the item with that photo, in your own locker.
Apple Health
If you connect Apple Health, HuntCraft reads your workouts, flights climbed and resting heart rate to score your fitness for each hunt. Your health data stays on your phone. HuntCraft never writes to Health. If you turn on "Share with my circles", only your weekly effort totals (points, minutes, miles and number of workouts) are saved to your account and shown to people in your circles. We never use health data for advertising or share it with anyone else.
What other people see
People you connect with, and members of your circles, see your display name and profile picture, and what you choose to share: messages, photos, shared lockers, and your weekly effort if you share it. Your email address is never shown to other people. Profile pictures are stored so that anyone with their link can view them; everything else is private to you and the people you share it with.
A small team of administrators can see account details, including email addresses, to run the service, answer support requests and handle reports.
Who we share data with
Only the companies that run parts of HuntCraft for us, each for that purpose:
- Supabase: our database, file storage and servers, where your account and content are kept.
- Google: Gemini, for AI gear scans you allow; and Google Workspace, which sends our emails (such as sign-in and password reset).
- Anthropic: Claude, for AI gear scans you allow.
- Apple: Sign in with Apple, push notifications and the App Store.
- Cloudflare: our website, huntcraft.app, and its profile and invite links.
We don't sell your data or share it for advertising. We'd only disclose it otherwise if the law requires it.
Keeping and deleting your data
We keep your data while you have an account. Settings → Delete account deletes your account and your data: your profile, gear, photos, messages, connections and settings, and, if you used Sign in with Apple, we revoke HuntCraft's access to your Apple ID. Circles you own that other people are in pass to another member. Copies can remain in our backups for a limited time before they're overwritten. Reports you made about others may be kept, without your name, to keep circles safe.
Security
Data is sent over encrypted connections and protected by access rules so that people can only reach what they're allowed to. You can also lock the app with Face ID.
Children
HuntCraft isn't meant for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has given us data, contact us and we'll delete it.
Your choices
You can see and change most of your data in the app, turn AI scans and fitness sharing on or off in Settings, and delete your account. To ask for a copy of your data, or anything else about your privacy, contact us. Depending on where you live, you may have further rights, such as to access, correct or delete your data; we honor those requests wherever you live.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date above, and tell you in the app if the change matters.
